About Silver Wings

The Beginning of Silver Wings

Silver Wings has a deep rooted history! Silver Wings was founded in 1952, known as Angel Flight, at a midwest university. It wasn't until 1957, that the national idea of Angel Flight was officially formed as an organization.

Over the the next few decades, the organization grew immensely. In order to market themselves towards a greater diverse membership, the objectives and mission were changed, and ultimately became known as Silver Wings.
